Who the Heck is Writing All This?

(AKA Webmaster Page)

(Enough of this, get me back to the homepage)

July 2006 -

Well, another year has passed and I'm actually a lot thinner (it all got kick-started from those three days back in January when I came down with a nasty stomach flu and was puking things out I didn't know existed on Earth). In case you missed all my blogging from a few months back, me and the kids are now in San Diego, California.

Sure, homes here cost more than I'd be willing to pay in ransom money for my two kids, but there is a lot of stuff to do! Since arriving, I've taken up surfing, played some golf, kept up the tennis, visited roughly 24 playgrounds, joined the PTA, kept up James' site, and gotten the new house in order. By 10pm I am typically out cold.

In any case, James has kept my ass busy the last 8 or 9 months, hunh? I'm going to ask him for a raise over my current $65,000 salary. (I wish).

That's it for this year, see below for more details on me.

Me and the Kids: Pretty Much Inseparable

April 2005

Greetings and salutations. I was going to be updating this page every month or so. Guess we need to make that every 12 months. In case you hadn't noticed, both Cade and I have lost some weight in our face (see 'Before Shot' below). Amazingly he's gained some hair and I've lost none (although I have added a few grays). And, it's official, Chloe is now the smartest member of the family. At 3. Gonna be a long 15 years with her correcting me all the time.

I'll skip the biographical info this time (just read below), and just let you know that it's a pleasure doing the site and I want to thank you for all the emails and questions we get!

Cade and Chris: We're Both Working on Our Double Chins!

A hearty welcome to those of you who are curious enough to venture over to this page of the website. This is where I get to show off my kids and force my skewed perspective of culture and the world upon you. First off, this is my 7 month old son Cade. My 2 year old daughter Chloe will make an appearance here as well, as soon as she's done emptying her legos all over the floor. I spend most of my day running around after these two, and then I make Macaroni dinner. On average I spend about 25 minutes a day on the site, which, it so happens, is about the length of one Dora the Explorer episode- who knew? I've known James since 2000, when he signed with Dunlop, and I happened to handle PR for them at the time.

In a past life, i.e. prior to the arrival of the kids, I was actually pretty cool. And thin. For instance, I recorded a CD of electronic music which was featured on WRAS here in Atlanta, GA. (WRAS is a tremendous radio station if you are ever in the area- 88.5 FM. Left on the dial and right on the music, as they say. Perhaps I'll grace you with some music of mine someday.) I also had a burgeoning career in Broadcast Journalism straight out of college (Syracuse University for those of you who haven't seen me post gleeful messages after they win in basketball). I was the Sports Producer at WTEN, earning ungodly sums of money. Well, if I had been living in China, it might have been considered an ungodly amount, but in Albany, NY it was only $4.50/ hr. I did get a raise to $5/hr after a year though. It soon became apparent that my devotion to sports and Broadcast Journalism only went so far. I was on to my next career as a PR smut dealer. With a stop over at the Macaroni Grill along the way.

I stopped dealing in PR smut just before Chloe was born in 2001, but have since dabbled a bit in it as a "consultant." I actually have my own PR business- StreamlinePR, of which I am the President and CEO and CFO and whatever other damn title I please. I think everyone should start their own business so they can be president for a day.

What else? I guess I'll drop some elitist cultural references on your rear ledges now. In my iTunes playlist at the moment I have some Modest Mouse, The Vines, The Bad Plus, the Let It Be Naked CD, and some Outkast (from the ATL). I'm reading David Halberstam's book "The Fifties" and I subscribe to Time, SI, and Wired.

Oh yes! I do dig tennis. Here in Atlanta we have a couple huge leagues. ALTA and USTA. I play in both. I'm a 4.0 player here, which translates to a 4.5 or 5.0 in other US cities (thank you very much), and this season we are kicking some behind. Our team has won 19 of 20 matches. We'll probably lose in the first round of the playoffs though- that's what always happens.

I'd also like to thank all the fans who traffic the site and send in their comments, observations, stories, etc. I have truly enjoyed this venture so far (since May of 2002), and I look forward to conning your butts whenever I can, and of course delivering all the JB news fit to print.
